In the light of growing demand for English communications in the healthcare sector, Cambridge University Press, recently conducted a workshop in Kochi, on the preparation of Occupational English Test (OET). The OET owned by Cambridge Boxhill Language Assessment is the exam for the healthcare sector recognised in the UK, Ireland, Singapore, UAE, Australia, and New Zealand has seen a surge of Nurses appearing for the exam, this one-day workshop offered insights on the Test and the official preparation resource material. Besides, the event touched upon the key trend and opportunities in healthcare communication both in India and globally.
OET Education Manager David Wiltshire presented the rationale behind the recent updates to the OET test, demonstrating how the test has kept abreast of changes in the healthcare industry and remains a relevant and reliable assessment of the language proficiency of healthcare professionals. The session was followed by a discussion with Ms. Gurleen Khaira, Co-author of Cambridge University Press resource material for OET aspirants who assured the official preparation material is the fastest and most effective preparation path to crack the exam and build language skills for life.
